If you are decommissioning the equipment we would recommend
removing the tile sensor from the mounting bracket and just
leaving the bracket. When you install in new equipment we recommend
you use a new empty bracket from your inventory to ensure a
simple clean installation experience following the installation
guide best practices.
Exception: Nitro Machines; you will need to remove the bracket.
We recommend thin stainless steel wire or suggested removal tool,
that you can use to floss the adhesive off. Any remaining adhesive
will roll off the equipment mounting location and the back of the
Mount.
To Replace Adhesive: Clean the surface of the mount with rubbing alcohol and dry completely. We would recommend using new 3M VHB adhesive.
(Ensure you give the new adhesive at least 15 min in ambient
temp to adhere to the mounting bracket before re-installing in
equipment.)
Use a slim flat head screwdriver to gently pry the tile
sensor out. Always start from the bottom center of the sensor
and pry up gently. Sensor should come out of the holder.
Adhesive is not used in the standard mounting bracket as the mount
securely holds the sensor in place if properly installed.
Follow the following instructions below to install the sensor
into the new bracket.
Recommendation: Start from the bottom and slide the sensor
to the top and then press down a few times to ensure it is
properly seated into the new bracket.
Ensure we understand why it has fallen off first to prevent going forward.
If mounting via cable ties then re-secure with new cable ties.
Taking into consideration the root cause of why it fell off initially.
If mounting via VHB we would recommend a new empty mount
be used following the installation guide best practices for the
equipment it is being installed in.
Removing the tile sensor and utilizing a new empty bracket
is our best practice recommendation when moving
sensors to new equipment.
